SDMC's salvage efforts can encompasses rescue towing, refloating a sunken or grounded vessel, or the patching and repairing of ships.

 

Today the protection of the environment from cargoes such as oil or other contaminants has one of the highest priorities involving the removal of petroleum, oils, and lubricants, damage control work such as hull welding, cargo stabilization & rebalancing, and structural bracing.
